Opening Details:

The College is pleased to announce an opening for a Financial Analyst. This is a full-time, year round, regular appointment, reporting to the Controller. The Financial Analyst is a key member of the Controller's Office providing support to the Finance Team including the VP of Finance and Administration Office, Investment Office and Provost Office. The Financial Analyst will assist with budget and accounting reporting and monitoring, process and reconcile financial information; and participate in on-going process improvement.

  • Prepare and analyze reports using PeopleSoft including GAAP financial statements, supporting footnotes, internal financial management documents, and external surveys
  • Monitor and maintain research grants, fixed assets, solar and other local investments
  • Research and monitor tax issues as assigned
  • Prepare audit material and work closely with outside independent auditors
  • Assist with the review and implementation of improvements to financial processes and operational efficiency initiatives and the assessment of software packages and reporting tools
  • Reconcile investment and bank reports, allocate gains and losses, and purchase and sell shares
  • Review accounts payable transactions including purchasing card activity, including proper coding for tax reporting
  • Support the Bursar, Budget Director, Associate Controller and Controller as assigned
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, or a related field; an advanced degree and/or CPA is a plus
  • Minimum of five years' experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience using Oracle PeopleSoft and related reporting tools or similar database is highly desirable
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written presentation skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of non-profit accounting, taxes and reporting is desirable
  • Demonstrated knowledge of accounting for investments and planned giving is desirable
  • Demonstrated knowledge of government research grants is desirable
  • Proficient in advanced levels of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Must be well organized with the ability to multi-task and work independently as well as part of a team
