Position Summary:

NYU’s Stern School of Business has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Director of the Center for Sustainable Business. The selected candidate will provide a high level of strategic, logistical and operational assistance to the Associate Director and Director in managing a premier Center for Sustainable Business. S/he will manage various events, conferences and programs for the Center. S/he will also plan, draft and execute traditional and digital marketing strategies for the Center’s communications. The Assistant Director will develop and maintain relationships with internal and external constituencies. S/he will support the team in identifying corporate partnerships to further the success and exposure of the Center’s programs and offerings. The selected candidate will also assess and evaluate progress against milestones and make recommendations for improvements. S/he will hire, train and supervise graduate and undergraduate student employees.


The selected candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in community building and outreach, event planning, providing operational and logistical support in a professional setting, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent project management skills, as well as strong interpersonal, and verbal and written communications skills are crucial. The ability to work independently and adapt quickly to changing scenarios with limited supervision is required. Excellent judgment is a must. S/he must have a demonstrated ability to cultivate and maintain strong working relationships. Candidates with experience working for an NGO, local city government, or environmental organization, particularly with a focus on sustainability, are preferred.
