Physical Requirements

Report to meetings at different locations both on campus and off campus; work with all levels of leadership and individuals from various backgrounds; provide superior customer service; provide effective consultation, project management and training; deal with complex situations that require a high level of professional judgment, confidentiality and emotional intelligence.



Primarily days (i.e. 8a-5p). However as an exempt position may require additional time in evening, weekend, etc. to accomplish work goals.


Job Summary

As a key member of the Executive Vice President for Finance and Administration senior leadership team, the Associate Vice President for Finance & Administration provides leadership in strategically managing the institution’s systems to achieve the university’s financial and administrative mission and goals.

A primary responsibility for the Associate Vice President for Finance & Administration will be to work with colleges and senior business officers throughout the institution to ensure all financial operations are being administered in accordance with policy and best practices. This includes overall leadership, planning and execution to ensure and provide oversight and accountability on financial and administrative processes.

It is critical for the selected candidate to understand university data, financial and productivity systems, as well as university, state and federal compliance standards. This position will partner with internal and external auditors and lead the university’s efforts to support any strategic plan for business opportunities.


Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

The preferred candidate will have strong operational, fiscal, and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and collaborate in a team environment with diverse groups of leaders to accomplish the goals and objectives of the university as well as have a strong track record of developing and building operation systems of accountability.

Preferred Education/Experience

Master’s degree and at least 10 years of financial leadership experience within a higher ed institution
