The Department of Accounting in the Opus College of Business at the University of St. Thomas, MN, is seeking outstanding candidates with the potential for exceptional research, excellence in teaching, and also a clear commitment to enhancing the diversity of the faculty and student population. This is a tenure-track position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level beginning in August 2021 or January 2022.

 


The Opus College of Business is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International. The college supports undergraduate, part-time and specialized MBA, specialized Masters, and graduate certificate programs.

 


Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications.

 

St. Thomas is located in the vibrant Minneapolis-St Paul area, one of the nation’s top 25 metro areas. The presence of 17 Fortune 500 headquarters plus a diversified list of other companies with offices in the metro area provide a very strong and supportive business community that attracts bright and talented people. A study found the Minneapolis St. Paul metro area population grew nearly 8% from 2010 – 2017. Recent census data also shows that Minnesota continues to grow more diverse, both racially and ethnically, and at a faster pace than many other places in the U.S.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidates should have a PhD (or alternatively ABD with a close completion date will also be considered), DBA in Accounting or related field (U.S. or foreign equivalent degree).

 


The successful candidate must be willing and able to teach graduate and undergraduate courses in accounting. We are interested in candidates who have demonstrated commitment to providing leadership in teaching, research, and service toward building an equitable and diverse scholarly environment.

 


Applicants must be able to demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and have an active research agenda. A combination of online, hybrid, and face-to-face course delivery will be expected.
