The department administrator for MCG Academic Affairs reports to the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and the Associate Dean for Finance and Administration (Dean's Office). Works independently with general direction from the Vice Dean and Associate Dean for Finance and Administration.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration or a related discipline with a minimum of three years' of demonstrated administrative management experience.
 
OR
 
Associate's degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of five years' demonstrated administrative management experience.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, to work effectively both independently and collaboratively, and to effectively work with all levels of AU staff
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement, discretion, and diplomacy in communications
  • Ability to research, compile, analyze, and integrate data and prepare reports
  • Ability to prioritize, manage, multi-task, and meet competing critical deadlines in a fast paced environment
  • Detail-oriented
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Extremely organized and process driven
  • Knowledge of AU policies and procedures
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases
  • Strong project management, consultation, coaching, and mentoring skills
  • Successful track record of leadership as a manager/administrator

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration or related field with a minimum for 4 years of progressive experience in management.

  • P-Card Holder and Authorizer
  • Health Shop Approver and Purchaser
  • Scholarship Committee
  • Building Coordinator
  • Inventory (Room and Equipment)
  • Administrative Direction and Support
  • Academic Affairs/Regional Campus/MD/PhD Management and Training
  • Facilities and Procurement
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned

Job Summary

The department administrator of MCG Academic Affairs reports to the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and the Associate Dean for Finance and Administration. The candidate will assist all Senior Associate Deans, Assistant Deans, and Directors for MCG Academic Affairs. The candidate will work independently, with general direction from the Vice Dean and Associate Dean for Finance and Administration.

Shift/Salary

Shift: Days/M-F (Work outside of the normal business hours may be required)
 
Pay Grade: 20
 
Salary: $55,869/annually - $73,886.75/annually
 
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
